Police arrest over 5,800 fugitives in five months
The convicts face imprisonment and fines, police say.

More than 5,800 fugitives were arrested across Nepal in the first five months of the current fiscal year, according to police.
The Nepal Police Headquarters said that 5,846 individuals, who were convicted and sentenced by courts but had absconded, were apprehended and presented before the courts to enforce their sentences.
Senior Superintendent of Police Bishwa Adhikari, spokesperson for Nepal Police, said the total imprisonment for all the fugitives combined is 1,968 years, nine months, and eight days. Additionally, authorities were ordered to collect fines of Rs430.54 million in total from the convicted individuals.
