Migrant workers with valid permits are exempt from NOC; other travellers to the Middle East and Russia still require certification.Post Report
The Nepali Embassy in New Delhi announced on Monday that Nepali citizens holding a valid foreign employment permit issued by the Department of Foreign Employment are no longer required to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) when travelling through Indian airports.
In a notice, the embassy specified that other travellers heading to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, Libya, and Lebanon via Indian airports must still secure an NOC. Additionally, those travelling to Russia, except for recipients of scholarships from the Russian government and business visa holders, must obtain an NOC from the embassy or the Department of Consular Services of Nepal.
Nepali nationals possessing a valid residence card or visa for the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Schengen countries are exempt from requiring an NOC for travel to any destination. Similarly, holders of Nepali diplomatic, official, or service passports, Nepali nationals bearing the United Nations Laissez-Passer (UNLP), and Nepali minors below 16 are also not required to obtain an NOC.
Nepali nationals needing an NOC are requested to contact the embassy via email at [email protected] and submit all necessary documents as outlined on the embassy’s website at least seven days before their intended travel date. The embassy may request additional documents if deemed necessary.
