Two motorcyclists died in separate road accidents in Chitwan and Nawalparasi West districts on Monday.

In the first incident, a motorcyclist was killed after his bike collided head-on with a truck at around 2:10 am in ward 3 of Ratnanagar Municipality along the East-West Highway, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Jiban Magarati of ward 15 in Ratnanagar Municipality. Superintendent of Police Laxman KC said Magarati sustained severe injuries in the crash and succumbed while receiving treatment at Bakulahar Ratnanagar Hospital at 2:42 am.

Police said the truck driver, Shyam Sundar Sahani, 36, of Gadhimai Municipality-5 in Bara district, has been taken into custody.

In another incident, a 26-year-old man died when his motorcycle lost control in Sunwal Municipality, Nawalparasi West. Ramnath Kanwar of Swathi, who was seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment at Prithvi Chandra Hospital, said police.
