A magnitude 5 earthquake with its epicentre at Listikot in Sindhupalchok struck the district and adjoining areas on Sunday night.
“An earthquake of local magnitude 5.0 occurred around Listikot of Sindhupalchowk district at 10:21 pm on Sunday (local time),” the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, Kathmandu said in a notice.
The jolt was felt in the capital city Kathmandu as well.
Details of the earthquake’s damage were not immediately available.
