Major General of the Tibet Military Command of the People’s Liberation Army of China Yue Ande called on the Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma on Wednesday.

Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information in a statement said they discussed issues of mutual benefits and concerns during the meeting at the Nepal Army headquarters.

An eight-member border defence delegation team led by Major General Yue arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a five-day visit. The team was welcomed by Major General Sagar Bahadur Thapa at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The team will visit Army Command and Staff College, Military Museum and other military units as well as historical and touristic places in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

The Nepal Army believes such a visit will help to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and also help in the promotion of Nepal’s tourism, reads the statement.
