Four more doctors have been arrested in connection with the fake educational certificate case.

Additional Inspector General of Police Kiran Bajracharya, chief of the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, said five people including lawmaker Dr Sunil Kumar Sharma have been arrested in the case so far.

According to him, those arrested apart from lawmaker Sharma are Dr Rambabu Yadav, Dr Ranjit Yadav, Dr Elina Sah and Dr Amit Chaudhary.

Earlier today, a CIB team arrested Nepali Congress lawmaker Sharma from Golfutar in Kathmandu Police sources said Sharma was arrested for an investigation after a certificate said to be issued from an institution in India was revealed to be fake. Sharma, who is the owner of a medical college, had pursued MBBS based on the certificate.

He was elected to the House of Representatives from Morang-3 in the last year’s polls. Sharma is considered close to the Shekhar Koirala camp in the Congress.
