Janata Samajbadi Party lawmaker Shahnaz Rahman died of a heart attack on Saturday. She was 63.

Rahman, who suddenly collapsed during a picnic in Ghyampe Danda of Bhaktapur, was rushed to Madhyapur Hospital where the doctors declared her dead, said Manish Suman, the party’s spokesperson.

She was elected to the House of Representatives through a proportional representational system under the Muslim cluster.

Rahman was also the central committee member of the party.
