President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Saturday assigned the Home Affairs portfolio to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The President’s Office in a statement said the head of state assigned the portfolio on the recommendation of the prime minister following the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
Lamichhane resigned on Friday after the Supreme Court invalidated his citizenship certificate. He was appointed to the post on December 25.
Prime Minister Dahal is also holding the Forest and Environment and Youth and Sports portfolios.
