Nepal Telecommunications Authority Chairman Digambar Jha resigned from his post on Wednesday. The government in August had appointed him as the Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority for the third time.
Earlier, Jha lost his job after a Cabinet meeting on July 4 decided to scrap the appointment made by the erstwhile government.
Later, the government appointed Jha again to the top post of the Nepal Telecommunications Authority through open competition.
After a Standing Committee meeting of the Nepal Communist Party extensively criticised his appointment, he organised a press conference this morning and said that the party has assassinated his character.
The tenure of Jha, who was appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority, was extended during the government of Sher Bahadur Deuba.
After the formation of KP Oli-led government, the Ministry of Information and Communications in the third week of April directed him not to carry out other works apart from his daily works.
Jha lost his job after a Cabinet meeting on July 4 decided to scrap all the political appointments made after August 30, 2017.
Jha had moved the court against the decision of the government. He had not withdrawn his writ even after the court issued a show-cause notice in the name of government.
He was again appointed to the post based on the proposal of the recommendation committee under Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Communications.
