LDT launches e-toilet in LumbiniLumbini Development Trust has launched an e-toilet in the premises of Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini.
Lumbini Development Trust has launched an e-toilet in the premises of Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini.
The e-toilet, which is set-up on a pilot project basis, will be in operation from Monday, LDT officials say. If the e-toilet project receives a positive feedback, the LDT plans to establish a dozen more such toilets across the town.
The LDT constructed the e-toilet as an alternative to preserve the heritage sites.
With the insertion of a coin, the door of the e-toilet opens for the user. This toilet is programmed to flush water, clean the platform after usage and enable a complete wash-down periodically.
All actions take place automatically, said Manoj GC of Eram Scientific, a distributor company.
“Tourists have been facing a lot of problems due to a lack of toilets in the Lumbini area,” said vice chairman of the LDT Maiteya. “With the launch of an e-toilet, we hope that the devotees do not have to face such difficulties in the future.”
