At a time when some local governments are being criticised for imposing heavy taxes on people, the local levels in Rupandehi are winning
accolades for offering effective health care services from its community health centres.
Tilottama Municipality in the district has brought community health laboratory services into operation in Kadariya Health Post in Ward-8 and 4 from Wednesday.
Basudev Ghimire, mayor of the municipality, pledged further assistance for the smooth functioning of the lab through human resource management and infrastructural development.
Pitambar Pathak, in-charge of the health post, said tests for malaria and tuberculosis are provided for free while a nominal fee is charged for other tests.
Likewise, urban health care promotion centre has started its services at Milan Park area in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-12.
Mayor of the Sub-Metropolitan City Shiva Raj Subedi said, “The centre not only provides treatment services, but also awares the people on health care and promotes the preventive
measures.”
