A woman was raped by her neighbor at Masta Rural Municipality-2 in Bajhang district.

Police arrested one Gorakh Buda, 40, on charges of rape on Wednesday.

The victim said Buda broke into her home in an inebriated state and raped her at her home. She said he fled after she cried for help. Her husband is in India for employment and she lives at her home with her deaf mother-in-law and six-month-old son.

Sub-inspector Gagan Singh Bhandari informed police has taken Buda under custody for further investigation.
