The revelation was made after an agent working for one of the private pathology labs was arrested by police on Wednesday.
In his statement to police, he admitted to luring the patients and relatives visiting the hospital to take clinical pathology services at private facility at cheaper rates. He also told police that some hospital employees were also working with him a on commission basis.
Dr Krishna Acharya, the officiating chief of the hospital, said he has obtained the names of the corrupt employees, but refused to reveal their names.
The hospital will take necessary disciplinary actions against them, he added.
Police said the agents working for private clinical pathology labs have been found approaching people visiting the hospital from rural regions of Banke, who do not know that the hospital already provides the essential lab services.
The hospital receives around 500 patients daily.
