Police lobbed tear gas canisters and fired warning shots into the air after the protesters started pelting stones at them in front of the Regional Administration Office, Rajpur.
Narayan Khadka of Silgadhi Municipality-1, Dipayal, Bharat BK of Silgadhi Municipality-4 and Kari Bhandari of K I Singh Rural Municipality were injured in the clash.
BK has been referred to Kailali for treatment while two others are undergoing treatment at the Sujanga Hospital.
Dipayal remained tense throughout the day today.
The irate protesters torched a motorbike (Ba 1 Ba 7339) belonging to the District Forest Office and also set the Pipalla-based traffic police beat on fire.
Residents of Doti have been staging demonstrations since this morning after the government declared temporary provincial capital against their liking. They have been demanding that Doti be declared the provincial capital of Province 7.
The government on Wednesday, however, declared Kailali’s Dhangadhi as the provincial capital of Province 7.
