Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Chautari at Media Centre in Jamal of the Capital on Thursday, he claimed that of the 165 seats in the parliamentary election, the left bloc will win 137 seats.
He was of the opinion that the left alliance would win 32 seats in the first phase of election held on November 26 and 105 seats in the second phase of election scheduled for December 6.
The first phase of election was held in 37 constituencies while the second phase of elections will be held in 128 constituencies.
Leader Pokharel, also the candidate of left alliance in Kathmandu Constituency-5, said that the left bloc will win all the 10 constituencies if no untoward incident takes place.
He went on to say that the left alliance would muster two-thirds majority in the parliamentary and provincial elections as the people across the country are attracted towards the left alliance and people are criticising the Nepali Congress for not utilising opportunity though it won the elections time and again in the past. He said that the decade-long Maoist insurgency was also held during the government of Nepali Congress.
Pokharel further said that Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba should respond over the increasing incidents of blasts in various districts in the run-up to the parliamentary and provincial elections.
He also lashed out at the Nepali Congress for spreading rumour that authoritarianism will be imposed in the country if the left alliance wins the elections.
