The mid hilly Pushpalal Highway has been partially blocked following a landslide at the Kauche section in Righa of Galkot Municipality-11 on Tuesday evening.

With the obstruction to the highway, vehicles en route to Burtibang-Kharbang to the district headquarters and outer districts have remained off the road.

A taxi driver was injured after his taxi in motion was hit by the same landslide, police said. Thamman Pariyar was hurt as a mudslide fell over his taxi (Dha 1 Ja 657) bound for Manewa from Galkot.

He succeeded in coming out of the half–buried taxi after smashing its window, police head constable Kamal Bhattarai of Kharbang Police Beat said. Pariyar was later rescued by the police and escorted to a hospital. He has sustained head and back injuries in the incident and was out of life-threatening condition.

Efforts are on to clear off the landslide debris and resume the highway. RSS
