The meeting being held the Chamber of Speaker in Singha Durbar at 5pm today will discuss ways to resolve the Parliament impasse in order to create favourable environment to hold the Prime Minister’s election, it has been learnt.
The main opposition, CPN-UML, has been obstructing the House proceedings in protest against the Election Commission’s decision to conduct re-election in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-19 where ballot papers were torn up on May 28.
The Parliament Secretariat had scheduled election for the post of PM at 11:00am yesterday. It was later put off till 3:00pm. Yet again, the House was adjourned till 1:00 pm on Tuesday.
The speaker had decided to adjourn the House, as the UML, which has been stalling House business over Bharatpur fracas, demanded two days to forge consensus.
