The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has expelled under secretary and chief of Transport Management Office, Nepalgunj, Pawan Subedi, for his irregularities while distributing driving licences.

According to the Ministry, Subedi was expelled after he was found issuing 19,000 driving licences without checking the answer sheets of examinees.

The Ministry had formed a three-member probe committee under the headship of Deputy Director Tulsiram Aryal of Department of Transport Management after a complaint was filed against Subedi at the Ministry.

As many as 26,000 persons had applied for the driving licences in September last year.

Among them, 23,000 persons had appeared in the written test and driving licences were distributed to 19,000 persons without marking their answer sheets.

Following the expulsion, the Ministry has directed Subedi to appear in the Department within 24 hours.
