Ninety engineers have reached the earthquake-affected villages in Gorkha to offer technical advice to the villagers on building quake-resilient homes.
The engineers’ team were mobilised after the government started distributing house reconstruction aid to the earthquake displaced.
Shyam Kishor Singh, chief of Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, said there are 18 resource centres set up in the quake-hit areas and each centre will have four engineers to offer technical advice and monitor house construction.
The engineers will also update the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) on rebuilding progress and make recommendations for further instalments of reconstruction aid.
Quake survivors of Hanspur VDC have started to construct houses after
receiving Rs 50,000, the first instalment of the reconstruction aid.
Similarly, the NRA started signing the aid agreements with the victims of Barpak, Gumda, Muchhok and Saurpani VDCs.
