Nepali Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has asserted that both the National Reconstruction Bill and Constitution Amendment Bill should be tabled in Parliament together.

Stating that an end to the prolonged Madhes agitation and relief for the earthquake-displaced people are issues of topmost priority, Sitaula claimed that both the bills need to be endorsed side by side.

“Our party believes that reconstruction work cannot move forward without addressing the Madhes crisis,” Sitaula said at a party programme in Banepa on Monday.

He claimed that some people had tried to defame the NC by charging that the party was reluctant to provide relief to the earthquake survivors.

“Conspiracies are being hatched by spreading false information about the NC’s position regarding relief and reconstruction. Our party is concerned about the situation of the quake survivors,” he added.
