Addressing a protest assembly at Rajbiraj—the district headquarters of Saptari on Monday, Yadav said, “We had burnt constitution in 2006 for our demands were not addressed. Now the need has occurred again and we will burn the constitution unless the Tarai belt from east to west is declared Madhes state.”
He claimed that the copies of new constitution have not only been burnt in Madhes but also in many Hill districts. “Neither Madhesi community nor the Magar, Limbu, among other ethnic groups, are satisfied with the statute promulgated by few leaders of three major parties. Therefore, we have deemed the constitution as anti-Madhes as it do not represent half the population. We will continue the struggle for our rights.”
Likewise, CPN-Maoist Chairman Matrika Yadav accused that Nepal Army and Nepal Police are inclined towards only a few classes, not for the entire nation.
“The police firing in our demonstrations have been justified as a response to the attempt to snatch weapons from the security personnel,” said Yadav, adding, “If we are fighting with the security personnel, it can only be for a separate country not for a separate state.”
