According to Kodari Immigration chief Pralhad Pokhrel, a team of Chinese officials from the Tibet Autonomous Region, who observed the school damaged by the landslide on Saturday, requested the school administration to procure land and submit building plans at the earliest. He said they also suggested constructing additional infrastructures to safeguard the school premises.
Currently, the school has been running classes in a temporary shed.
The school authorities said they appointed a psychological counsellor to smoothen emotional transition of the children, who could not stop crying at the loss of their friends when the classes were resumed.
Meanwhile, various individuals and organisations have pledged Rs 14 million in assistance to the school.
The recent donors include Slesha Thapa, founder of Nidan Foundation Nepal, and Mina Thapa, a Nepali national
living in Australia. They have donated Rs 321,000 and Rs 84,000, respectively.
According to headmaster Balram Timilsina, donors have deposited around Rs 6 million for the school and a trust fund worth Rs 700,000 has also been set up. He said the Chinese aid will be used to build structures like hostels and procure education materials.
