Ncell has expanded and strengthened its 4G network across the country by bringing 250 new towers into operation and upgrading the capacity of 2,200 existing sites over the past year, the company said on Thursday.
The expansion is aimed at improving voice quality and delivering faster, more reliable data services at a time when mobile connectivity has become essential for safety, education, business and staying connected with family members, Ncell said in a statement.
The new towers were installed and activated across local units and micro markets in all seven provinces, with a primary focus on Madhesh, Lumbini, Koshi and Bagmati provinces to enhance 4G coverage and expand services.
In Karnali Province, Ncell extended 4G services to areas including Sabhapokhari in Dailekh, Purtimkada in Rukum West and Bagchaur in Salyan. In Sudurpashchim Province, new towers were brought into operation in locations such as Ladagada in Doti, Banjariya in Kailali and Saraswati Tole in Kanchanpur.
Similarly, several micro markets in Madhesh Province, including Hanuman Nagar in Siraha, Bhimpur in Saptari and Musaharniya in Dhanusha, have benefited from the addition of new towers.
“Now the network works very well even inside my house. It is much better than before,” said Anisa Mandal from Manharpur, Ward No. 17 of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City in Madhesh Province.
A BBA student, Mandal said reliable mobile and internet services are crucial for her studies.
Upanga Dutta, Chief Consumer Business Officer of Ncell, said the network expansion and capacity upgrades would ensure wider access to modern mobile broadband and improved voice services.
“The addition of these new towers and the capacity upgrades we have carried out nationwide ensure wider 4G access and quality voice services for our customers at the local level and in micro markets across the provinces, maximising the value of connectivity,” Dutta said.
