NEPSE drops over 5 points; turnover slightly down

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 5.21 points on Monday, closing at 2,674.76. This represents a 0.19 percent decrease, continuing the downward trend after Sunday’s 8.57-point fall.
Out of the total traded companies, share prices of 92 rose while 155 declined, indicating a broadly bearish market sentiment.
A total of 17.16 million shares were traded in 69,651 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs7.58 billion. This was a slight dip compared to Sunday’s turnover of Rs7.60 billion, according to NEPSE.
Among the 13 subgroups, only the banking and manufacturing & processing sectors registered gains. The manufacturing & processing index rose by 57.05 points, while the banking index increased by 2.48 points.
Sectors including hotels & tourism, development banks, and microfinance experienced losses during the session.
