Bajaj will launch the Discover 150 by the end of February, while Hero MotoCorp will roll out the Xtreme Sports in mid-February.
The Discover 150 is Bajaj’s first 150cc motorcycle under the Discover brand. HH Bajaj, authorised distributor of Bajaj two-wheelers in Nepal, is expected to price this motorbike between Rs 180,000 and Rs 210,000. The bike will be available in two versions—Discover 150F and Discover 150S.
The bike features tubeless tyres, petal disc brake, digital metre and nitrox suspension system. It is equipped with 4-valve DTSi twin-spark engine that produces a maximum power of 14.5pc at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.7Nm at 6,500rpm. The company claims the Bajaj bike offers a mileage of 72-km per litre.
“We hope the Discover 150 will perform very well in the market as it will be one of the most cost-effective 150cc bikes offering maximum fuel efficiency,” said Punam Singh, head of marketing at HH Bajaj. “As it comes with the latest engine technology and stylish design, it will cater to the needs of the youths too.”
The Discover 150 will be available in four colour options—dark blue, wine red, ebony black and dark bottle green.
The Hero Xtreme Sports comes with refreshed design and various added features. “Recently, Hero appointed a new team in R&D. So the new Xtreme Sports will be more stylish, giving adventurous ride for bike enthusiasts,” said Dinesh Ratna Bajracharya, head of Hero division at Nepal General Marketing, authorised distributor of Hero MotoCorp.
“Hero MotoCorp has not sent detailed specifications and pricing of the bike, but we hope it would be priced between Rs 225,000 and Rs 230,000,” he said.
