The government has appointed Dilli Adhikari as Managing Director of Nepal Telecom. The Cabinet meeting on Thursday had decided to appoint Adhikari to the top post of state-owned telecommunication service provider, sources said. He was working as manager in Telecom.

The post had been lying vacant for the past five months after the government removed former MD Kamini Rajbhandari on August 14. A committee under Mahendra Man Gurung, Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology had recommended three names for the post: former managing director Buddhi Acharya, Telecom employees Dilli Adhikari and Sangita Pahari.
