Government declares Ansari a martyr
The government has declared Maulana Khursid Ansari of Sunsari as a martyr. Ansari was shot dead by unidentified persons at Bhutaha Bazaar in Harinagar Rural Municipality-2, Sunsari, on Thursday.

A Cabinet meeting on Friday evening also decided to provide Rs1 million to the bereaved family.
The government has promoted DIGs Pushkar Karki, Dhiru Basnyat and Thule Rai to Additional Inspector Generals of Nepal Police.
On September 13, the secretariat of the promotion committee under the Home Ministry recommended the names of three senior police officers for the post of AIG.
Karki, Basnyat and Rai joined the police force in 1989 along with IGP Sarbendra Khanal.
The Cabinet meeting also approved some amendments to the existing provisions on formation of the commission to resolve problems related to freed Kamaiyas and Haliyas.
The government also endorsed the Electronic Correspondence Directives-2075 with an objective of creating an environment for easy and smooth electronic correspondence in government bodies.
The government appointed Yubraj Subedi as the chairperson of the Crisis-ridden Cooperatives Management Committee. The Cabinet also approved second amendment to the statute of the District Development Committee Federation. It will now be known as the District Coordination Committee Federation.
