The landslide triggered by heavy rains struck the house belonging to Balaram Dangi at around 7 pm. According to the District Police Office, Lalita Dangi (8), her brother Lalit Dangi (6) and sister Menuka Dangi (4) perished in the landslide.
The incident occurred while the victims were in the kitchen.
Balaram and his wife survived the disaster as they were at a nearby cowshed at the time of the incident.
The Dangi couple fell unconscious as they lost their children in the landslide.
The security personnel reached the incident site only around midnight.
The locals could not rescue the victims as the landslide continued along with the incessant rain. Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Bahadur Shahi said the rescue operation could not be carried out promptly due to a landslide risk. A police team retrieved the bodies from the debris on Monday morning.
The landslide buried half of the two-storey house. Chief District Officer Kamal Raj Dhakal, who reached the incident site on Monday, advised the local people to stay on high alert as it has been raining in the area.
Last week, five members of a family were killed when a landslide buried a house in Bagchaur-4.
