The Indian Minister, who flew to Janakpur from Kathmandu on Monday, took stock of the cross-border railway project funded by India.
After offering his worship at historic Janaki Temple in Janakpur, Minister Mandaviya reached up to Kurtha section of Jayanagar-Janakpur railway project. He also visited the road construction project in Yadukoha of Dhanusha.
Dhanusha Chief District Officer Prem Lal Lamichhanehe received letters from the Home Ministry and Birgunj-based Indian embassy contact office to make arrangement for State Minister Mandaviya’s visit.
The Indian minister also held a meeting with Province 2 Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Planning Jitendra Sonal and Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan Mayor Lal Kishor Saha. During the meeting held at Sita Sharan hotel in Janakpur, Minister Mandaviya held discussion on development among other issues with the minister and the mayor.
Minister Mandaviya, who reached Kurtha enquired when the railway line will come into operation.
