Bhaktapur
City girls on Saturday learnt lessons of on defending themselves against male predators that lurk around in urban and rural areas.
Representatives of Bibeksheel Sajha Party (BSP) conducted the one-day ‘Self-defence Training’ camp for girls in the city on Saturday.
BSP’s first such camp trained girls to defend themselves against molesters and potential rapists. BSP chief of the self-defence campaign Ranju Darshana took the lead in organising the event, coordinated by Rojiya Banu, to empower city girls. Giri Bahadur Sunwar trained the participants on various moves and methods of self-defence.
BSP has vowed to continue to impart this kind of training to girls in the future to deter the increasing number of rapes and violence against women.
