Rautahat
Relief-deprived flood survivors from Bhalohiya settlement in Durga Bhagawati Rural Municipality-1, Rautahat, staged a demonstration in front of District Administration Office on Sunday.
They claimed that the district authorities had not distributed relief materials in their settlement even after two weeks of the flood. According to them, even the employees of local units and cadres of political parties ignored them while distributing relief materials.
Only those people who had political connections received assistance while the others were categorically ignored, they said. Chief District Officer Uddhav Bahadur Thapa said the flood-affected people in Bhalohiya were mistakenly left out from the relief programme. (PR)
