The government is preparing to introduce an act to regulate the activities and spendings of I/NGOs, a minister said on Sunday. According to Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Asha Koirala, the new act was necessary because the works of I/NGOs in the country are not satisfactory.
Despite having a collective budget that is more than the country’s national annual budget, Minister Koirala said, the I/NGOs had not achieved the desired results. Those organisations that are doing good jobs need not worry, she added. (PR)
