The ruling CPN (Maoist Centre) has accused the main opposition CPN-UML of trying to gain a political mileage by voting against the constitution amendment proposal.
A meeting of the Maoist office bearers on Tuesday concluded that the amendment proposal fell through because of the UML’s stance.
“Despite our serious efforts, we could not further empower indigenous and Madhesi people due to the UML’s stance against the proposal,” said leader Mani Thapa. Party Spokes-person Pampha Bhusal claimed that the UML wanted to create polarise politics by standing against the amendment proposal. (PR)
