Universal College of Medical Sciences’ ‘misleading’ notice flayed
Students listed on the merit list to study MD/MS in the Tribhuvan University-affiliated medical colleges have condemned Universal College of Medical Sciences’ statement claiming that students did not contact the college for admission.
Students listed on the merit list to study MD/MS in the Tribhuvan University-affiliated medical colleges have condemned Universal College of Medical Sciences’ statement claiming that students did not contact the college for admission.
The statement issued by Universal is misleading and distorts real facts, the students said.
In a public statement issued on Monday, Universal has said they will not be held responsible if the students on the merit list do not present themselves before the college administration by Tuesday for admission in Post-Graduate courses.
Nine students who came in contact with the Post said that they had visited Universal multiple times, only to be denied admission by the college administration on each occasion. “Now, they are claiming that students have not come in contact with the college for admission,” said a student who did not want to be named fearing reprisal from the college.
The UCMS is the only medical college that has not accepted medical students on the merit list for MD/MS programmes. The college is asking for an additional amount—between Rs1.6 million and Rs1.8 million—from the students on top of the TU set fee of Rs3.1 million.
