DoWSS to launch 41 drinking projects

In a bid to provide safe drinking water to the people, the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage (DoWSS) is set to launch 41 drinking water projects in 31 districts.
The DoWSS is planning to start the projects by setting up water processing centres in the respective districts, said Under-Secretary Arun Kumar Simkhada of the DoWSS. Likewise, the DoWSS is planning to run safe drinking water projects in all 75 districts, he added.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Dipak Khadka said the ministry is working to achieve its goal of providing water at people’s doorsteps by the end of 2017.
A total of 400 projects are currently in the pipeline for which Rs 405.5 million has been allocated, he said.
