I/NGOs told to maintain transparency

During a meeting held on Wednesday between the NRA authorities and representatives of the I/NGOs, the authority expressed concern over the complaints regarding the activities of I/NGOs in private housing rebuilding works.
Govind Pokharel, chief executive officer of the NRA, has asked the representatives of partner organisations working various districts to coordinate with the government agencies to move ahead with the rebuilding works.
“We have received widespread complaints from locals and other concerned that the stakeholders and I/NGOs are spending money to be spent for reconstruction on various subjects,” said CEO Pokharel, urging the stakeholders to comply with the rules and existing rules and regulations and follow due procedure.
During the same meeting, NRA also urged partner organisations to invest in training masons for expediting reconstruction of private houses damaged by the earthquake. (PR)
