Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expanded his Cabinet on Sunday, inducting one more minister to the 28-member Cabinet.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party lawmaker Jayanta Chand was appointed the commerce minister. He is the son of former prime minister and RPP Chairman Lokendra Bahadur Chand.
Chand took the oath of office from President Bidhya Devi Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas later in the day. According to an understanding among the coalition partners, the ministry was allotted to the RPP. Minister for Labour and Employment Deepak Bohara, who is the Parliamentary Party leader of the RPP, had been looking after the Commerce Ministry.
