Govt panel to probe Mountain Air chopper crash
The government on Wednesday formed an investigation commission to look into the circumstances that led to the crash of Mountain Air helicopter in Sindhupalchok district.Ekantipur Report
All four people on board the chopper including a foreigner were killed in the crash.
The helicopter with the call sign 9N-AJP AS 350 operated by the Mountain Air, a private civil aviation company, crashed on Tuesday in a jungle at Yamuna Danda of Balefi in Sindhupalchok after hitting a high-tension power pylon, killing Captain Subek Shrestha, Dr Sandeep Mahat, Sher Bahadur Karki and a Dutch woman Jessica Wilford.
The chopper was returning to the Capital after supplying relief goods to the earthquake survivors.
The three-member Commission headed Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, Joint Secretary at Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, include members Captain Pramod Lama of Shree Airlines, Engineer Janak Thapa of Manang Air and Promod Nepal, Under Secretary at Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation .
It was formed according to the minister-level decision, said Ministry Spokesperson Mohan Krishna Sapkota. RSS
