Accepting the signatures of 413 CA members, collected to press for the promulgation of constitution on January 22, at CA building in New Baneshwor on Friday, Chairman Nembang accused the parties of not willing to forge consensus. “Parties who were saying that they would forge consensus within two hours are reluctant in doing so,” he said, “Consensus hasn’t been forged, not because they can’t but they are not willing.”
The signature campaign carried out under the coordination of CPN-UML lawmaker Prakash Jwala had collected signatures from leaders of Nepali Congress, UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, CPN-ML, Rastriya Janamorcha, CPN-Unified, Nepal pariwar Dal, Bahujan Party, Nepali Janata Dal, Akhanda Nepal Party and Jana Jagaran Party.
Lawmaker Jwala informed that although Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal and Nepal Worker and Peasants Party didn’t take part in the signature campaign, they have assured to support the CA procedure.
A meeting of CA is scheduled to take place today amid confusions after major parties failed to forge consensus on contentious issues of constitution writing.
