Don ‘Chari’ killed in cross-firing: Home Minister
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam has clarified, before the Legislature-Parliament, that don Dinesh Adhikari alias 'Chari' was killed during cross-firing with police.

Speaking at the Legislature-Parliament on Friday, Gautam claimed that Adhikari first opened fire at the police following which police retaliated and he was killed in the cross-fire. Police have begun more investigation into the case, added Gautam.
"The accused who was traveling from Kathmandu to Bhim Dhunga on a pulsar motorcycle (Ba 49 Pa) opened fire at the police during regular security check after which the police retaliated and he was killed," said the Home Minister at the Parliament.
Objecting to Home Minister’s clarification, Lawmaker Rajendra Prasad Pandey of Dhading, has warned that the incident was pre-planned and that they are not going to forgo the case easily.
While the police have been claiming that notorious gangster Chari was shot dead in an encounter, relatives of the dead have claimed that police killed him in a fake encounter.
Several CPN-UML lawmakers have demanded investigation into the death of Chari.
Gangster Chari was killed in a police encounter near Bhimdhunga, 7 km south of Kathmandu, on Wednesday.
