Indian premier to visit Nepal in August
India's newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit Nepal in the first week of August.Ekantipur Report
In a report published by The Telegraph India, the Indian Premier will be visiting Nepal on August first week for wide-ranging discussions with the Kathmandu leadership on upgrading ties.
Prime Minsiter Sushil Koirala had met and invited his counterpart Modi for a visit following the inauguration ceremony on May 26. During the meeting Modi had said that his government wishes to bring closer focus on relations with Nepal.
This will most likely be Modi’s third bilateral visit since he took office, following Bhutan and Japan, and the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Nepal since 1997.
The report states that a delegation team comprising of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh along with a few other ministers will be accompanying Modi during the visit.
