Sagarmatha Legends win inaugural NPL game
Sagarmatha Legends have started off their campaign with a comprehensive win against Vishal Group in the first match of the much-awaited Ncell Nepal Premier League (NPL).Ekantipur Report
Skipper Binod Bhadari's exceptional batting performance helped Sagarmatha Legends ease to a dominating 107 runs victory against the Vishal Group captained by national skipper Paras Khadka.
Captain Bhandari shined with bat as me made 98 runs helping his franchise to reach 242 runs in 49.3 overs after being invited to bat first. Bhandari hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his 71-ball inning. For the Vishal Group, bowler Ram Naresh took three wickets.
In reply, Vishal Group was bundled out for just 135 runs in 33.3 overs. Raju Rijal top scored with 37 runs while national skipper Paras Khadka managed 22 runs.
Lal Bahadur Adhikari and Nischal Pandey took three wickets a piece for the Legends.
Though the tournament has been much awaited, it has run into a fresh controversy after the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) distanced itself from the tournament just a day before the event kicked off in Dhangadi.
