Nepal, Korea joint-secretarial level meet in Seoul
A Joint-Secretary level meeting of a committee comprising of the officials of Nepal and South Korea took place at the Ministry of External Affairs in Seoul on Friday.Devendra Sambahamphe
The committee was founded in 2001 and its maiden meeting had taken place in Kathmandu in 2005.
The officials from both the countries participated in the meeting last week which was held after a gap of nearly nine years.
The meeting reviewed several aspects of the bilateral ties between Nepal and South Korea, and also discussed on the mutual benefits of both the countries regarding trade, finance, regional and international relations.
Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambika Luitel, informed that the meeting also discussed about the South Korean assistance to Nepal and its future in the coming days.
Luitel added that Nepal was under South Korea's priority from this year for the Official Development Assistance (ODA). South Korea has been helping and providing assistance to 26 countries under the ODA.
