Bista, who won four consecutive gold medals in the SAF games, a regional South Asian sporting event, will formally announce his retirement through "Fireside", a popular talk show aired on Kantipur television every Monday night. The program will be aired tonight.
He was able to secure the top berth with four gold medals in the 8th, 9th, 10th and the 11th SAF games held recently in Bangladesh.
Bista is also the first Nepali to win four gold medals in SAF games. Bista also won two bronze medals at the Asiad and he is the second Nepali player to be selected for the Olympics.
Bista said he'll organize a special program to announce retirement formally.
