The police have arrested three persons for illegally producing alcohol and selling the product under various liquor brands.

A police team deployed from Kupondole police station in Lalitpur Metropolitan City to monitor liquor stores arrested the individuals on Sunday.

According to police, Niraj Upreti, a permanent resident of Kalinchok Rural Municipality in Dolakha district, Dharmi Gaudel, a permanent resident of Galyang Municipality 9 in Syangja district, and Ganesh Bahadur Ranamgaru, a resident of Tinpatan Rural Municipality 2 in Sindhuli district, were among the arrested.

Police informed that preliminary investigation showed that the arrested persons were producing and selling the bootleg under the name of various domestic and foreign brands of liquors.
