Police have arrested two persons convicted of banking fraud from Pespicola, Kathmandu.
A police team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau nabbed 34-year-old Kishan Karki of Ramechhap district and 48-year-old Deepak Kumar Kafle of Kavrepalanchok.
Patan High Court on November 22 had sentenced Karki to five days in jail and slapped a fine of Rs1.5 million. The court on June 14, 2021, had ordered Kafle to serve a seven-day jail term and pay a fine of Rs890,000. Both of them were convicted of committing banking fraud by issuing a cheque without maintaining insufficient funds in bank accounts.
The duo was on the run following the court’s order.
They have been presented before Kathmandu District Court for implementation of the verdict.
