Kathmandu

Nepal on Friday reported 246 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 994,859.

Similarly, 377 people tested positive in a total of 3,324 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Friday, 5,866,929 PCR and 1,331,137 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 1,621 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,990 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 977,845 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 487 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 5,024.

In the past 24 hours, 36 new infections were reported in Province 1, seven in Madhes Province, 173 in Bagmati, nine in Gandaki, 16 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and four in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Thursday reported 224 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Similarly, 531 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded on Wednesday and 399 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Tuesday.
