Nepal on Wednesday reported 496 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 991,681.

Similarly, 530 people tested positive in a total of 3,342 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Wednesday, 5,845,065 PCR and 1,308,147 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 3,614 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country reported three Covid-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,977 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 973,819 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 414 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 5,885.

In the past 24 hours, 30 new infections were reported in Province 1, 16 in Madhes Province, 324 in Bagmati, 46 in Gandaki, 52 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and 24 in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Tuesday reported 560 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths. Similarly, 498 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded on Monday and 451 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Sunday.
