Nepal on Monday reported 498 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 990,625.

Similarly, 436 people tested positive in a total of 2,489 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Monday, 5,838,493 PCR and 1,301,714 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 2,862 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country reports one Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,972 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 972,967 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 470 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 5,686.

In the past 24 hours, 64 new infections were reported in Province 1, 17 in Madhes Province, 330 in Bagmati, 26 in Gandaki, 30 in Lumbini, two in Karnali and 29 in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Sunday reported 451 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 326 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Saturday and 529 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were reported on Friday.
