Nepal reports 478 new Covid-19 cases, one death
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,602 and the number of active cases stands at 5,431.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 478 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 830,480.
Similarly, 62 people tested positive in a total of 3,552 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,901,742 PCR and 844,394 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,209 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported one Covid-19-related fatality.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,602. The number of active cases stands at 5,431.
According to the ministry, 813,447 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 271 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 310 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 221 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 59 in Lalitpur and 30 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 34 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 18 in Province 2, 334 in Bagmati, 36 in Gandaki, 29 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and 20 in Sudurpaschim.
On Thursday, 79 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 14—three in Province 1 and 11 in Bagmati—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 370 new coronavirus cases. Similarly, 291 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Tuesday and 213 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded on Sunday.
